Flash flooding inundated the first floor of Sky City Casino in Cibola County, New Mexico, at 11:18 p.m. UTC on Oct. 24, 2026. The casino sits about 1 mile northeast of North Acomita village. Guests evacuated to the second floor, the National Weather Service in Albuquerque said.

Local emergency managers were working to open a shelter for people displaced by the flooding, the office said.

The office also had a Flood Watch, plus Flood Warnings and Flood Advisories, in effect across central and eastern New Mexico as of the morning of Oct. 25, 2026. None had been lifted.
