ALLATRA Research Center Launches a Quarterly Natural Science Journal
ALLATRA Global Research Center has published the first issue of ALLATRA Natural Science Review, a quarterly the Center describes as an interdisciplinary journal covering the natural sciences and their bearing on public health, environmental and climate security, and policy. The Center announced it in a press release posted to its website on Aug. 23, 2026, carrying an Atlanta dateline of Aug. 17.
The issue is titled "Natural Science in an Age of Planetary Change" and runs 97 pages, according to the release. The journal's own issue page lists 12 contributions across five sections and gives the publication date as Summer 2026.
Contents named by the release include an article on microplastics, nanoplastics and pregnancy by Antonio Ragusa, M.D., of Sassuolo Hospital in Italy, who the Center says led the first study to report microplastics in human placental tissue; an interview with oceanographer Sylvia Earle, a National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence and founder of Mission Blue, and Liz Taylor of DOER Marine; and analyses of the 2026 Venezuela earthquake, the magnitude 8.8 Kamchatka earthquake of 2025, and Pacific Ocean heat ahead of the 2026 El Niño. The Kamchatka contribution is credited to "N. Albridge (pseudonym)."
The Editor-in-Chief is John Ahn, Ph.D., MBA, Chief Scientist and Chair of ALLATRA GRC, and the Scientific Editor is Anastasiya Pashigreva, Ph.D. The editorial team's goal is to make complex science accessible "while preserving its essential depth and nuance."
