Hurricane police ordered evacuations for residences immediately along Gould Wash, which was running out of its banks through Hurricane, Washington County, Utah, as flash flooding continued there Thursday morning, Oct. 22, 2026, the National Weather Service's Salt Lake City office said. The office reported the flooding ongoing around 9:52 a.m. MDT.

In Southern California, the National Weather Service's Los Angeles/Oxnard office reported a large tree branch down and flash flooding in Carpinteria, Santa Barbara County, at 11:30 p.m. PDT Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, citing a local official.

Farther south, in San Clemente, Orange County, the National Weather Service's San Diego office conducted a storm survey after media relayed photos and videos of damaged trees, including one large uprooted tree. The survey found that snapped limbs and the uprooted tree had been pushed toward the northeast, consistent with the storm's direction of movement, and concluded the damage was likely caused by straight-line winds. Radar data, used to estimate the time of the damage at about 6 p.m. PDT Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, suggested winds may have exceeded 50 mph.
