A trained weather spotter, identified in the report as a former National Weather Service employee, found dozens of 1- to 2-foot-diameter ponderosa pine trees knocked down, some of them snapped, in the forest about 5 miles north-northeast of Bellemont, in Coconino County, Arizona. Radar signatures put the time of the damage at around 6:45 a.m. MST on Oct. 21, 2026.

The National Weather Service's Flagstaff, Arizona office logged the damage as thunderstorm wind in a Local Storm Report.
