Anyone Can Now Download Meta's Newest AI Model

Meta published the weights for a new artificial intelligence model, Muse Spark Open, on Oct. 15, 2026. Anyone can now download the trained model itself and run it on their own machines, instead of reaching it only through a company's online service.
In its announcement, Meta says it built the model for programming work and for long jobs that take many steps. The weights can be downloaded from Hugging Face and from the model catalogs Amazon, Google and Microsoft run for their cloud customers, and several firms, among them Groq, Together AI and Fireworks AI, are serving the model through their own interfaces.
By Meta's account, the model has 816 billion parameters in total, 42 billion of them active at any one time, with room for up to 1 million tokens, or pieces of words, at once.
The company also says the model runs on two Apple M5 Ultra Mac Studios using Apple's MLX software, which would put it on a desk rather than in a data center. That is Meta's claim about its own model, and nobody outside the company has tested it.
Meta describes Muse Spark Open as the most capable US open-weight model to date, an assessment the company reached on its own evaluations. No independent benchmark result for the model has been published, so there is no outside measurement to set beside it.
The weights come under Meta's own Muse Model License, which the company says has limited commercial terms that let many developers use the model for free.
